|GOTHIC TREASURES UPPER AUSTRIA|
|Linz ? Museum in the castle|
22nd April ? 27th October 2002
The Upper Austrian province museum digs up the GothicTREASURES of Upper Austria and starts a research project for this large exhibition, lasting two years, in which twenty scientists take part. We get the order to draw up the exhibition design and to realize it on two floors in the museum in the Linzer castle.
The exhibition design picks up three central formal characteristics of the Gothic: the vertical, the light and the intensive choice of colours. Exclusively original exhibits from Upper Austria can be seen. The design strives for the largest possible minimization and avoids everything that would obstruct the view of the originals. So rooms and situations are formed, in which the rare exhibits begin to show their eloquence and put in a special light start talking for themselves. From the exhibition centre in Linz several routes lead to ten original Gothic places as well as to further exhibitions, which are also partly designed by us with minimized means.
